Month of July
Victoria Morrison - Smithville Western
Victoria Morrison has been employed at Smithville Western since the fall of 2005. Victoria works in the housekeeping department. Victoria takes pride in making sure the facility is bright and shiny for the residents each and every day. She shares her smile and her laughter with the residents.
Victoria is diligent in her work and will often do whatever it takes to assist her co workers to reach that positive outcome. Thanks for all that
you do for Smithville Western. Keep up the good work!
Dawn Pruitt - Towne Center
Dawn Pruitt is Towne Center's employee of the month for July. She started her career in the health care field in 2004, where she attended EHOVE Adult Career Center in nursing. She became an LPN in 2006. She started working
as an LPN at Main Street Care Center in April of 2008. Dawn is a tremendous asset to the facility and enjoys working with the residents.

J'Amica Clifford - Autumn Aegis
Autumn Aegis would like to congratulate J’Amica Clifford , STNA for being nominated for employee of the month. J’Amica began her career at Autumn
Aegis one and half years ago. J’Amica is an asset to our nursing team. She currently works part time and plans on achieving a nursing degree in the
future. J’Amica can work all units as needed and is a very flexible team player. The residents and families thank her for the genuine care she
delivers with her smiling face. Thanks J’Amica for your hard work and dedication.
Sally Morris - Grande Village
Sally Morris is the Grande Village Employee of the month for July…Sally has been with Grande Village for many years. When Sprenger Health Care
purchased the property in 2006, Sally took over as the Director of Recreation. Sally did an awesome job and the residents were very vocal on how much they appreciated the variety of things she offered them. Eventually the campus continued to grow and Sally took over the Administrative / Receptionist responsibilities. In her current role Sally does an outstanding job handling the many issues that come up daily. Many times she is multi-tasking to take care of the phone ringing, visitors coming in, and directing the lobby area. Along with her phone duties Sally is responsible for transportation scheduling, petty cash, check reconciliation, scheduling of the receptionists monthly, and assisting the marketing department. We are proud to have Sally as a part of the GV team and appreciate all that she gives to the campus.
Joyce Hurt - Horn Nursing
Joyce Hurt has been an employee of Horn in Housekeeping since October of 2007. She likes working with the elderly because it makes her feel needed. Joyce is always willing to go the little extra needed to care for our Residents. Joyce has plenty of love and compassion to go around for
everyone. When asked what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, she said “Just enjoy life”! We at Horn are glad that Joyce is enjoying this part of life here with us and our Residents. Thanks Joyce for all you do!
Hannah Kuzah - Anchor Lodge
Anchor Lodge would like to congratulate Hannah Kuzak for being nominated the Employee of the Month for July. Hannah began her career as an STNA at Anchor Lodge through the Cooperative Work Experience between the JVS and Anchor Lodge in 2009. Hannah completed her cooperative experience in Diversified Health Occupations and fortunately for us continued to work at Anchor after she graduated. Hannah is known to be a flexible team player who is willing to work where ever she is needed. The residents and family members adore her for the genuine care and compassion she shows to each resident and always with a smile on her face. Hannah received numerous nominations for Employee of the Month from coworkers, residents and family members. As one of them stated, "She is an excellent role model for new hires and an asset to Anchor Lodge." We couldn't agree more! Thanks and congratulations Hannah!
Jackie Richardson - Heather Knoll
Jackie Richardson has been chosen as Heather Knoll’s Employee of the Month for July, 2010. Jackie is an RN supervisor that generally works day shift. Jackie has worked for Heather Knoll for 2 years. Jackie is a very detail oriented person as well as an advocate for the residents and their
families. She provides exceptional care to the residents and encourages outstanding customer service from the staff she supervises. When not at
work, Jackie enjoys spending time with her children. We would like to say thank you to Jackie, for being a great role model at the facility and for your dedication to our residents; keep up the good work!
Terry Brenning - Elms Retirement Village
Terry Brenning has worked at the Elms since April 1, 1979. She began her career as a housekeeper, transferred to nursing assistant and then attended nursing school. Terry became a LPN in 1985 and has been the LPN on night shift ever since. Terry says she loves the residents and the people she works with. “They are like a second family to me. They are a great bunch of people”. Terry's co-workers felt that she should be employee of the month. Terry is a loving nurse and she will help anyone who needs it. She never complains and is always willing to listen. Congratulations Terry. You deserve it!

Debra Sparks - Amherst Manor
Please join us in recognizing our June Employee of the Month, Debra Sparks, LPN. Debbie has worked at the Manor since August of 2007. She has excellent clinical skills and good instincts. Debbie's honest, direct and practical manner makes her a favorite with residents and families. She is patient, caring, nurturing and empathetic - a real resident and family advocate! The residents on E2 trust and depend on Debbie, and truly miss her on her days off! Her coworkers describe her as honest, hard working, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Her husband and 2 children live in Wellington. Amherst Manor is very fortunate to have charge nurses like Debbie who care for our residents like they are family. Please congratulate Debbie on your next visit to Amherst Manor!
Dionne Mitchell - Autumn Aegis
Dionne Mitchell is Autumn Aegis' employee of the month for June. Dionne has been working as a nurse aide until 2 weeks ago when she was promoted to Scheduler. She was nominated because of her dedication to the residents. The residents, staff have noticed Dionne going above and beyond to assure satisfaction for all residents, not just the ones she is assigned to. Dionne never remains in one spot very long because she is always looking for ways to others. Dionne is a tremendous asset to the organization and we congratulate her on a job well done!
Missy Clay - Anchor Lodge
Anchor Lodge is pleased to announce that Missy Clay has been nominated as June's Employee of the Month. Missy has been employed at Anchor Lodge since 2007 in the role of Director of Discharge Planning. Missy communicates with the Insurance Companies on the residents behalf to ensure the resident is covered by their insurance until their highest level of functioning is met. Missy works very closely with residents and family
members to arrange for needed home services and equipment so that a smooth and safe discharge home can occur. Missy balances the many demands of her job well and takes time to alleviate the fears from each resident and family member while always displaying the utmost compassion and professionalism. Congratulations Missy and thanks for a job well done!
Mehgan Butler - Heather Knoll
Mehgan Butler has been chosen as employee of the month at Heather Knoll for June 2010. Mehgan is a Speech Therapist and provides communication and swallowing training to our residents. She also assists the Director of Therapy with running the department in his absence. Mehgan received her undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University and her Masters degree at Akron University. She has been employed at Heather Knoll since June of 2008 and loves working with the residents and staff at the facility. Congratulations Mehgan and thank you for your outstanding work. Keep up the good job!
Ashli Garrod - Horn Nursing
Horn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is proud to announce Ashli Garrod, our newest member of the Activities Department, as employee of the month of June. Ashli started RN classes at Kent State after graduating from High School in 2007. She became an STNA here in 2008 and when we needed someone to “temporarily” handle Activities in March of this year, Ashli stepped in and has done an outstanding job! She has increased activity attendance, involved the staff, and has made Horn a busy, happy place to be. We at Horn feel lucky that Ashli has decided to make a career change and stay in Activities. Thanks Ashli from all of us at Horn and keep up the great work!!
Kathy Earle - Elms Retirement Village
Kathy Earle is a Physical Therapist at Elms Retirement Village. She has been a therapist for 25 years with the past 8 months being at the Elms. Kathy does a great job in therapy. She has a passion for her work. Kathy never says no when she is asked to cover a shift or asked to assist by providing her insight regarding a patient. Her co-workers enjoy working with her. “She has a great sense of humor and fun to work with. She is always full of energy”. The residents love her smile and caring heart. One resident says, “She is so sweet and fun!”. She has much respect for her patients. Thank you Kathy for being an inspiration to all of us. Congratulations on Employee of the month!
Maria Gonzalez - Towne Center
Maria began working for Sprenger Health Care Systems in 2006 at Lorain Manor. She initially worked in housekeeping, then dietary, but when Main Street Care Center was about to open in April 2007, she obtained her State Tested Nursing Assistant certification and began to work as a STNA at Main Street. She currently works in the Rehabilitation Unit. According to her supervisors, Maria is very hard working and conscientious. She is always kind and attentive to all residents. Maria states: “I enjoy getting to know the residents that I care for. It is so gratifying to watch them progress in therapy.” Congratulations, Maria!
Mary Parsons - Grande Village
Mary became part of the dietary team in September 2007. She started as a server in the Manor, quickly became a cook and has been cooking in the Manor and the Suites ever since. Mary works wherever she is needed to make sure our Residents are always taken care of. She trains new dietary staff and recently became the "in charge person" of the our newly opened servery for the memory support unit and orthopedic rehab unit. Mary loves to work in a "spotless" kitchen and she always encourages other staff to clean, clean, clean!
